Brittany & Jimmy

Brittany and Jimmy began dating their sophomore year at Xavier University. After college, Jimmy moved back to his hometown of Chicago for three years, while Brittany stayed in Cincinnati. They navigated a long distance relationship during this time and were very excited when Jimmy moved back to Cincinnati. After dating for nine years, Brittany and Jimmy got married in 2016.

Brittany is an elementary teacher and Jimmy works in sports sales. They are both very close with their families, and they love spending time with their dog, Bryzzo. They both grew up with three kids in their families, so they had always dreamed of having children themselves.

After two years of being married, they decided it was time to grow their family. When things weren’t happening as quickly as they expected, they reached out to her doctor. After many tests, Brittany began taking a thyroid medicine, femera, and medicine for suspected PCOS. After no success, they went to see specialists at the Institute for Reproductive Health.

Even though they didn’t have fertility coverage in their insurance, they continued with three rounds of IUI. After a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy, and surgery for endometriosis, doctors suggested IVF would give them the best chance for success.

Brittany and Jimmy weren’t sure how they were going to be able to afford IVF, but Brittany’s friend told her about Parental Hope and the grants they award at their annual Spring For Hope event. Brittany and Jimmy gathered their team of family and friends for support. They felt so blessed and excited when they were chosen as recipients of an IVF grant at the Spring for Hope event.

“We are beyond grateful to Parental Hope for providing us with this chance to become parents and are hopeful for the future!”
