Cara & Kevin

Cara and Kevin attended the same school since the sixth grade, but didn’t become friends until high school where Kevin played basketball and Cara was a cheerleader. Keeping in touch occasionally throughout college, the pair finally went out on a date when they graduated and have since celebrated 12 years of marriage. Kevin is a client manager for an asset protection firm. Cara is a human resources manager for an events company.

Cara and Kevin knew they wanted children right away and after a year of trying without success, they were diagnosed with male factor infertility. The very first round of IVF found the couple pregnant with twin girls. Kasiah and Kaydence were born prematurely at 24 weeks. Sadly, their baby girls passed away the day after their birth leaving the two completely devastated. About two years later, Cara and Kevin were able to try again with another IVF cycle and gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Kaden.

After the births of their children, Cara began having severe abdominal pains. Years later, a specialist diagnosed Cara with a condition called Adenomyosis. After two surgeries, Cara is very thankful to be pain free. Since there is no cure, Cara will eventually have to have a hysterectomy. Cara and Kevin want to continue building their family while they’re still able and give their son the sibling his little heart desires.

“We’ve battled with infertility our entire marriage with extreme highs and lows. Our faith, love for each other, and our support system are what has helped us to hang in there and not give up. Even though it’s been a very difficult journey, we wouldn’t change anything. Our challenges, have shaped us into who we are today; a resilient family who has learned to cherish and be thankful for every single day. We are beyond grateful to be a part of the Parental Hope family and receive a grant that will allow us the opportunity to try again.”
