Christina & Jonathan

Meet Christina, a kindergarten teacher, and Jonathan, a farrier, from Lexington, KY. They both love their jobs and happy to have found a career path that is fulfilling. Christina and Jonathan met on the Shotgun Team at the University of Kentucky their senior year and have been inseparable ever since. They started dating, were engaged, and married in less than a year! Married for almost 6 years, they have two golden doodles, Woodford and Ollie, and a cat named Kitty. Christina and Jonathan enjoy spending time with their fur babies, family, and friends. They are always on the go and love doing anything outdoors – kayaking, hiking, walking, etc.

Shortly after Christina and Jonathan were married, they started trying for a family. They knew that with Christina’s family history of infertility and hormone imbalances, they didn’t have time to waste. After six months with no luck, Christina reached out to her OB/GYN and was diagnosed with PCOS. They began trying Clomid, Femara, and other fertility medications to no avail. After about three years of different fertility medications, Christina and Jonathan decided to stop trying for a little while to reset, work on their mental health, and grow in their relationship as a couple. Once they were ready again, the couple applied for the Parental Hope Family Grant through the Spring Raffle in 2020. Unfortunately, they weren’t chosen as a recipient. But, Christina and Jonathan continued to have faith and hope that their time was coming. They tried lots of different diets and supplements to try and conceive without medication, but nothing seemed to work.

“Fast forward to January 2021. We decided to apply again for a Family Grant through Parental Hope and we were chosen! We are so excited to start this journey and hope that it will bring us our long awaited and desired baby!”
