Haily & Jake

Haily and Jake met at the University of Louisville in 2008. Seven years later, they tied the knot. After marrying, they took a year to focus on their marriage, careers, and enjoyed a little travel.

Haily, a registered nurse, and Jake, a technician, they decided to start a family. After a year with no success, they decided to seek help from a fertility specialist at the University of Louisville Fertility Clinic. They were diagnosed with unexplained fertility. The most logical next step was to start with IUI, but after six unsuccessful rounds, they were nowhere closer to having a child. After a lot of consideration and knowing going in debt was the only option, they tried IVF in August 2018. Four mature eggs, one embryo, and a lot of stress later, their miracle didn’t come. It was devastating. Financially and emotionally the “one shot” took a lot out of them, so they decided to take a break.

Every day since, they have prayed for a way to start again. Haily’s mom kept talking about the Institute for Reproductive Health, their success stories, and a grant program offered by Parental Hope. The grant was the answer they were looking for!

“We are so incredibly blessed and humbled by receiving this grant! You have given us hope again. Thank you, Parental Hope!”
