Jessica & Steve

Jessica and Steve tell everyone they are high school sweethearts because they met while both teaching at the same high school 10 years ago. Steve teaching geometry and Jessica teaching choir, they started dating in the Fall of 2011 after three years of friendship. They used their relationship as an example to their students, encouraging friendship, respect, and support in a relationship. Those same students helped them plan their wedding on March 30, 2013 in Lexington, KY.

For almost six years, their friends and family would ask when they were going to have kids. They would smile and say “our students are our kids!” As educators, this is true and they love their students very much, but they knew this response was also hiding the pain of trying and hoping and praying for so long without receiving the gift of a child. After surgery for endometriosis, hormone therapy, IUI and so much more, they are hopeful that IVF will be the method that allows them to become parents.

Through the Parental Hope raffle process, “Team Go Greene” (including former students), showed tremendous support both emotionally and financially, and they remain overwhelmed with the love they have received!

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“We believe that Parental Hope is a part of God’s plan for our life and we are so thankful for the opportunity to see our dream realized through the generosity of Mindi & Kevin Huber, the support of Parental Hope and the prayers of family and friends.”

***Update: Jessica & Steve welcomed Lucas Jonathan on February 17, 2019.
