Katie & Keaton

Katie and Keaton are two educators who pride themselves in working with kids every day.  Katie, a 3rd grade teacher in the Fort Thomas School District, is a graduate of Highlands High School and Butler University in Indianapolis, IN.  Keaton is a high school special education teacher and basketball coach at Ryle High School. He graduated from Pendleton County High School and went on to play college basketball at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.  They both received their Rank 1 from Northern Kentucky University.  As Keaton was working on his Rank 1 in Special Education, he met Katie’s coworker in class, who played matchmaker and set them up on a blind date.  The rest is history!  The couple has been happily married since June 2019.

Keaton and Katie are both very close with their families. Katie grew up with two brothers and a sister.  Keaton grew up with two younger brothers.  They now have five nieces in the family who they love dearly. Katie’s hobbies are being outdoors, yoga, running and music.  Keaton’s hobbies are golf, Cincinnati Reds baseball and coaching basketball.  However, the biggest interest they share in common is they want to raise a family.  They have an 8.5 year old golden retriever, Josie, who they adore, but they want Josie to be a big sister.

The couple tried on their own for a year and then decided to go a step further and seek support from the Institute for Reproductive Health. One day Keaton was scrolling on Twitter and noticed that Channel 5 News posted a tweet about how couples could apply for a chance for a grant from Parental Hope.  So, they applied for the grant then on January 29th Keaton and Katie were watching the live stream of the drawing and they were the first ones called as recipients of the Grant!

“It’s a great feeling knowing that Parental Hope is willing to help out struggling couples, and we are beyond grateful!  We remain hopeful as we continue to put our faith and trust in God that our biggest dream will come true- having a healthy baby.”
