April & Bryan

Bryan and April came to know each other through April’s work as a CNA while caring for Bryan’s grandmother in the nursing home. Bryan’s grandmother always expressed interest in wanting to see Bryan and April in a relationship. She passed away December of 2018 and they finally started dating six months later. They instantly knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and married in August 2020. Right away, Bryan and April began trying to become parents. April had known for quite a few years that she had PCOS and endometriosis. After multiple doctors, appointments, and procedures they were referred for an IUI consultation. After the consultation, they received a very expensive bill for bloodwork April’s doctor ordered. At that point, they had decided to just let go because the financial and emotional burden was just too much to bear.

Bryan and April learned about Parental Hope through a friend who received a Parental Hope Grant in 2019. So, they visited the Parental Hope website multiple times to apply, but every time they did, they application cycle was closed. April kept thinking about applying and one day, went to the Parental Hope website again just to look at all the babies and the Grant cycle was open to apply! Her heart leaped into her throat. April called Bryan right away and they applied right then. Bryan and April came to the Spring for Hope event with little to no hope of receiving a Grant and thought what were the chances of being selected? But they were selected!

“We can’t thank Parental Hope enough for this opportunity to become parents! We also want to thank our family, friends, and church family for all the prayers and support during our journey but most importantly God. We have faith and trust that God is still on the move, and we will have our miracle one day soon!”
