Ashleigh & Josh

Josh and Ashleigh met in the second grade and graduated as high school sweethearts. They married on July 1st, 2015. Josh is a Detective with the Kentucky State Police, and Ashleigh is an Operations Supervisor for Fayette Heating and Air in Lexington, KY. They love the outdoors, being on the lake and spending time with their fur babies, Lego and Harley.

Josh and Ashleigh started trying to grow their family naturally in 2019. After having no luck, they reached out to their OB/GYN who suggested Clomiphene for six months. After several tests and rounds of medication, they were back to square one, with no answers and many questions. After a year, Josh and Ashleigh met with a fertility doctor in Lexington who suggested trying IUIs. After three unsuccessful rounds, they were beginning to lose all hope.

After keeping their journey private, Josh and Ashleigh started opening up to friends and family. In doing so, a friend recommended the doctors at the Institute for Reproductive Health in Cincinnati. In 2021, they met with Dr. Awadalla and he recommended the next step was IVF. A few months later, their IVF journey began. Their first transfer resulted in a chemical pregnancy. Devastated again, Ashleigh reached out to a co-worker who also struggled with infertility. That co-worker happened to be 2020 Parental Hope Family Grant Recipients and encourage Ashleigh to apply for a Grant.

“Receiving this wonderful grant is not only an answer to our prayers but it is also a huge weight lifted off of our shoulders.  Josh and I cannot wait to continue our infertility journey and will forever be thankful for the Parental Hope organization for helping families like ours.”
