Bethany & Jenna

Becoming parents is something Bethany and Jenna have always dreamed of — It has always been a part of their plan, however, they never expected how difficult the journey to becoming pregnant would be.

Bethany works as a middle school teacher while Jenna is the head of creative at a local newspaper. The couple has been together for over seven years now. In 2017, Bethany was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid the size of a grapefruit, which caused her to undergo a partial hysterectomy. She was very fortunate to keep both of her ovaries, in hopes that Jenna could carry one of her eggs to term in the future. After healing, they started fertility treatments.

The couple has been trying to start their family for two years now. After multiple cycles of hormones, several failed IUI’s, and lots (LOTS) of tears — their doctors claimed the couple to have unexplained infertility and were told the next step in growing their family would be IVF.

As their insurance covers nothing and financial options have been exhausted on their previous procedures, the couple started researching grants and came across Parental Hope and immediately applied.

“We were amazed that an organization such as Parental Hope even exists. When we received the phone call about receiving one of the grants; we were in complete shock. We still can’t believe it. It feels incredibly surreal that our dreams of becoming parents are closer than ever before thanks to Parental Hope! This foundation was the answer to our prayers and we will be forever grateful!”
