Crystal and her husband, Kelly, have been married for 14 years and spent 9 of those years trying to complete their family.  The couple married young and decided to wait almost four years to start a family.  After a year of unsuccessful trying, they reached out to the Institute for Reproductive Health.  Crystal was soon diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.  While the news was heartbreaking, it was at least an answer to the many questions they asked themselves over the last 12 months.

Their first course of treatment was IUI.  After several failed IUI’s the couple discussed IVF options with their doctor at IRH.  They ultimately decided the cost was just too much when the outcome was not guaranteed.  So Crystal and Kelly took a break, re-grouped and came back to the office for three more rounds of IUI, again, all unsuccessful.  Finally, three and half years after first trying to conceive and during a break from IUI, but while still taking the medications prescribed, Crystal was finally pregnant.  In the summer of 2013, they welcomed a beautiful, healthy baby girl.  The next five years brought two miscarriages and many more rounds of IUI, but finally in March 2018, they had a healthy baby boy and their family is now complete.

Crystal earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice at Northern Kentucky University and her Master in Business Administration from Thomas More University.  Currently, Crystal is a licensed Kentucky Paralegal and works for State Auto Insurance Company, for their Cincinnati House Counsel as a CARE Legal Services Associate.

Crystal’s husband is the one that actually discovered Parental Hope during a radio segment he heard that David and Jen Bross were doing back in 2016.  Crystal volunteered to help during the first Event Planning Committee signups and has been a part of Parental Hope and our mission since then.  She has served as Event Planning Co-Chair since 2019 and remains in that role.  She enjoys being on the front lines and overseeing the events that raise money for the organization which ultimately provide the financial grants to those that are struggling with infertility.
