Hillary & Tyler

Hillary was out catching fireflies at a Christian college event and dropped a handful into Tyler’s hands. From that moment on, Tyler knew he would work to win Hillary’s heart which ultimately led them to the altar to get married in 2010. Children had been Hillary’s deepest longing since childhood. After an unexpected pregnancy and miscarriage, they began the process of trying to grow their family. Unfortunately, after years of doctor appointments, multiple IUIs, medication and the diagnosis of PCOS, Endometriosis and male factor infertility, they were unable to conceive again. They felt confident God had called them to be parents, but they didn’t know how it was going to be possible.

After some time grieving, they began to discuss adoption. Tyler immediately got excited after hearing about embryo adoption and knew this would be the perfection opportunity to have the children they desired and allow Hillary the opportunity to carry a child. They eventually found themselves at the National Embryo Donation Center where donor and recipient families can be matched together. They ultimately found two families that graciously offered their embryos to grow their family and give the embryos a chance at life. In 2019, Hillary became pregnant with a little girl and everyone rejoiced with them for their sweet baby, Amari!

The joy and blessing of becoming parents filled their hearts the moment they saw their daughter! But the responsibility and weight in parenting soon became apparent when their daughter began to have medical issues resulting in a hospital stay. It took about 10 months of hard work and advocating for their daughter before things began to improve and they are happy to say Amari is now healthy.

Hillary and Tyler feel a deep sense of commitment and love for to their two remaining embryos and also have a desire to help their donor families complete their journey. Moving forward with another transfer was going to be financially very difficult due to the unexpected medical cost and loss of income. When another embryo adoption mother texted Hillary a link to the Parental Hope website, Hillary immediately began the process of applying.

“For weeks I prayed every night as I laid our daughter to bed that God would help provide for us and that maybe, just maybe Parental Hope would choose us. The moment we found out we had been chosen I burst into tears! We are filled with such overwhelming gratitude to God, the Parental Hope Team and all the financial donors! We can’t wait to go get our babies! Thank you! Thank you!”
