Kahlie & philip

Philip and Kahlie are both from the South—Philip is from Alabama and Kahlie is from Texas. They began to date, were engaged, and got married while they were in college. During their engagement, they both decided that they’d love to adopt one day. Their original plan, however, was to have biological children first, and then to pursue adoption. Though they “planned” this, the Lord had established a different path that would lead to the growth of their family.

Over the past 6 years of marriage, they have been in a difficult season of infertility. Through many prayers and some unsuccessful infertility treatments, the next step recommended was IVF.  Instead of going through IVF cycles, though, they decided to pursue embryo adoption through NEDC.

Though they haven’t been able to have biological children, they are incredibly thankful that God has ordained embryo adoption as a means to grow their family. Any form of adoption, including embryo adoption, is not a second-class way of growing a family. They joyfully and eagerly pursued embryo adoption.

As a result of a successful embryo transfer, they gave birth to a beautiful daughter named Eliza Jane in 2021. And while they rejoice that God provided them a precious baby girl, they (all 3 of them!) are eager to grow their family through embryo adoption again.

This is where Parental Hope comes in! Because of their desire to adopt embryos, Philip and Kahlie applied for a financial grant through Parental Hope that would help out with some of the cost. Now, because Parental Hope generously awarded them with the grant, they can pursue embryo adoption. In all honesty, without this financial support, growing their family would have been a lot further down the road than they desired. They are so thankful for this opportunity!
