Kayla & Matthew

Matthew and Kayla met in October 2019. After just a few months of dating, they knew they wanted to build a life together. They were united in marriage in May 2021. Matthew works at North American Stainless and Kayla is a Funeral Director at her family owned funeral home in Vevay, Indiana. Ever since Kayla was a little girl, she had a vision of what her life would hold. A fulfilling job. A loving husband. A family of her own. She has accomplished two of the three. A family of her own has eluded her and left a gaping hole in her heart.

All her life she has dreamed of becoming a mommy, not knowing the uphill battle that they would face emotionally, physically, as well as, financially. Their journey began in 2020 when Kayla was diagnosed with stage-3 endometriosis. After her second surgery with a top endometriosis surgeon in Cincinnati, they knew the chances of conceiving naturally would be slim. After three rounds of unsuccessful IUI’s and the news of how much it would cost for IVF, friends reached out to Kayla to tell her about the Parental Hope Grant. Infertility is a rollercoaster of emotions. It has taught them the true meaning of resilience. It has also taught them to persevere no matter how many times they were told to try again. It has also taught Kayla and Matthew patience and appreciation. For when the time comes and they finally get to hold their baby, they will appreciate this miracle and see the mountains they had to climb to reach this moment.

Kayla and Matthew were awarded one round of IVF through Parental Hope in April 2023 at the Spring for Hope event, donated by the Institute for Reproductive Health. The Parental Hope grant and IRH has given them the chance to grow their family and not be burdened financially.

“We give all our thanks to Parental Hope, IRH, as well as, God in this journey. We are beyond thankful for answered prayers and for this opportunity to grow our family and become part of the Parental Hope family. We will never be able to thank Parental Hope enough for all of their help, guidance and support in our journey. We remain hopeful and trust that God will bless us with our miracle.”
